Mediamaisteri is one of Finland’s leading specialists in digital learning. The company provides e-learning services, a learning platform and expert help with planning and creating training courses.  

The learning platform has over 2 million end-users, placing high demands on scalability, security and availability. Glesys Finland provides the data center and hybrid cloud platform services that supports this scale. For more than ten years, the services have evolved along with Mediamaisteri’s growth, enabling the company to grow while meeting increasingly demanding customer demands for availability, performance and security.

Mediamaisteri was looking for a comprehensive, all-in-one solution, with a service provider managing the data center and cloud platform. Glesys provides Mediamaisteri with a hybrid cloud platform, which includes servers, storage and connectivity services, as well as maintenance of server hardware and virtualization software. The server platform is built using solutions provided by Dell Technologies, making it reliable and easy to maintain.  

The service includes network connectivity, firewall and security, and Glesys also takes care of setting up virtual machines and provides a monitoring service.

During the collaboration, Mediamaisteri has grown significantly with the number of customers and end-users increasing to more than 2 million. As the demand has grown, scaling the services to accommodate business growth has been essential. Mediamaisteri has been particularly impressed by how seamlessly the platform has adapted to changing requirements and continued growth, and without them having to manage the complexity themselves. 

Considering the high number of end-users, the platform’s technical functionality and availability are critical. These were already top priorities when planning the hybrid cloud platform. Another critical element highlighted by Mediamaisteri is security. Information security is becoming increasingly important for Mediamaisteri’s customers – especially those in the public sector. The platfrom is hosted in Glesys’ Pori data center, which is compliant with ISO 27001, 22301 and audited against Katakri requirements. This helps Mediamaisteri meet growing security expectations while providing while providing customers with confidence in the platform’s operations and resilience.

Mediamaisteri emphasizes leveraging 100% green energy. Sustainability and environmental awareness are only growing in importance.

At the Pori data center, the use of renewable energy has been optimized through the facility’s own solar power plant. In addition, Finland’s cool climate and the bedrock further reduce the energy needed for cooling.
